Listening to music, playing instruments and singing have all been shown to improve the wellbeing of people with dementia. At the end of its first year the Music in Dementia managed innovation network (MIN) funded by the Institute of Mental Health, is looking to extend its membership and to widen the scope of the group.

The collaborative network of academics, musicians, support workers and therapists who all hold an interst in the use of music in dementia care settings is looking for new members to join its growing network.

The group meet every two months, usally on a Tuesday evening at the Institute of Mental Health - the next meeting will be on Tuesday 19th June between 5.30pm - 7pm. No musical ability is required just an interest in helping to promote the use of music to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia.
