The Multicentre Monitoring of Self Harm in England Study

The “Multicentre Monitoring of Self Harm in England” study is co-ordinated by the Centre for Suicide Research at the University of Oxford and runs in Oxford, Manchester, Leeds and Derby.

The CEQUEL Study – Seeking Participants

Although many medicines are used to treat bipolar depression there is still little reliable evidence to help patients and doctors to select the drug or combination of drugs that is likely to be the most effective, safe and tolerable. CEQUEL is a randomised controlled trial designed to provide strong and reliable evidence on the effect of adding Lamotrigine to Quetiapine and of adding Folic Acid to treatments for bipolar depression. The trial will also explore links between genetic factors and response to folic acid treatment.

The PROMISE Project

The PROMISE Project led by Dr Kapil Sayal is a randomised controlled trial examining the effectiveness of school based programmes in the prevention of depressive symptoms for high risk adolescents aged 13 to 16.
