Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth

Co-directors: Professor Stephen Joseph and Steve Regel

The Centre for Trauma, Resilience, and Growth (CTRG) is a multi-professional partnership dedicated to therapy, consultancy, education and research into trauma.

The CTRG provides an inter-disciplinary focus for students, trainees, practitioners and researchers interested in trauma, its effects, contexts and therapy. The CTRG has attracted local, national and international research students and hosts a social work placement unit directed by David Murphy that offers opportunities to trainee social workers locally. The CTRG provides an umbrella for practitioners and researchers working locally in the NHS and the university to meet and to develop research and practice through its regular seminars and workshops. It hosts the Diploma in Trauma Studies run jointly with the University of Nottingham’s School of Education.

The CTRG is one of the specialist services of the Psychological Therapies Directorate of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. We offer a range of consultancy and therapeutic services and accept referrals for assessment and treatment of psychological problems arising from exposure to trauma.
